Event Details

The Academy-Award winning writer-director of No Country for Old Men and O Brother, Where Art Thou has an Off-Broadway play out, and we're gonna go see it!

It's called Almost an Evening, and I thought it was great, really funny.  I was quoting from it for weeks afterwards (especially from the debate between 2 very different types of gods -- one uber-angry and yelling at the audience, one soft and loving).

Other reviewers also thought it was great (see below for the reviews).

Plus, the show is cinematic AND theater history ...

Plot Summary: The play is kind of tough to describe, so I'll just copy the little synopsis: it "consists of 3 one-act plays: Waiting – Someone waits somewhere for quite some time. Four Benches – His voyage to self-discovery takes a British intelligence agent to steam baths in New York and Texas, and to park benches in the U.S. and U.K. Debate – Cosmic questions are taken up. Not much is learned."
